Ook John Mensah heeft een blessure, maar zit wel bij de voorselectie van 29 man. Daarin is ook Kevin Prince Boateng opgenomen. Hij speelde al jeugdinterlands voor Duitsland, maar hoopt voor de start van het WK een Ghanees paspoort te bemachtigen.
Vanuit de Eredivisie zitten Eric Addo en Matthew Amoah bij het keurkorps. Voormalig jeugdspeler van Ajax, Quincy Owusu Abyie, mag ook op een uitverkiezing blijven hopen.
